Sony's 3G capable e-reader goes head to head with... →
With this new Reader, Sony’s unashamedly gunning after the Kindle—the 3G and superior touchscreen tech point to this, and its use of the open-source EPub format is an attempt to stop Amazon from completely establishing itself as a monopoly provider for e-books in a proprietary format in the U.S. The one decider for all this is the price of the gizmo. Sony’s smaller non-3G...

This is the first time I’ve run into Pandora’s 40hr per month limit. Now I have the option of paying $0.99 and listening as much as I want for the rest of the month — or paying $36 for unlimited (ad free) listening with higher quality audio. … Or I could just wait until next month and 40 more hours.
For now I’m giving Last.fm a try.

My ears perked up when she said that they had an election during her stay. “The guy that won was a member of...

Debate in Germany: Research or Manufacturing? →
On a recent morning, Mr. Drescher, 43, clicked through a series of PowerPoint slides for Mr. Jurk, the economy minister. “Knowledge beats production,” screamed one slide, while another drove the point home to the man who sometimes steers tax money toward local companies: “Saxony has to invest in development, less in production.”

The Little But Really Useful Guide to Creativity... →
via bridgettelizabeth:nihilnoetia:delacroix:
Play.
Don’t consume and create at the same time — separate the processes.
Shut out the outside world.
Reflect on your life and work daily.
Look for inspiration all around you, in the smallest places.
Start small.
Just get it out, no matter how crappy that first draft.
Don’t try for perfect. Just get it out there, asap, and get feedback.
